Love Scout tells a story of a romance between the CEO and secretary. When I first heard about it, it felt like the plot seemed too familiar which didn't excite me much. Except, there was a fresh twist to this familiar plot. Instead of the usual CEO being a man with a female secretary, here the CEO is a woman which gave it a unique vibe from the start. Its fun and also empowering seeing the roles reversed.
A little more backstory about these two: the female main lead is a CEO for this headhunter company where she has to find suitable employees for businesses. She presents herself as this cold-hearted workaholic, and someone who doesn't really take care of herself or care to talk to others unless its about business. One thing you'll notice is that in the first few episodes, her office was messy and she had paperwork everywhere. She wouldn't eat, and led a disorganized, chaotic life. Even her home was practically empty and had nothing but water bottles in her fridge.
On the other hand, we have the main male lead—who is a single father and is the biggest "green flag" you could imagine. He excels at everything he does and is incredibly organized. He was thoughtful and always put his daughter Byeol first, that he even took parental leave for the sake of her mental health.
Their first meeting is a bit funny—he tries to sabotage her plan to hire his boss at a different company. Soon after, he got fired from his toxic job and found himself working as her secretary. It started with tension and lack of trust on her part, but he earned her respect by paying attention to the small details that improve her work life. Pleasing her wasn’t easy—she had high standards and a specific way of doing things—but he proved to her that he was someone she could rely on. He took the initiative of fixing her jammed door, organizing her messy paperwork and chaotic schedule, and transforming her office into a space that helped reduce her stress. He always brought her coffee and food to make sure she took better care for herself. He didn’t just assist her—he protected her peace and helped her lead a more balanced, less hectic lifestyle.
As time passes, you see her character development evolve with him in her life. She starts taking better care of herself, eating more, talking to her employees, and appreciating the beauty of life outside of work. You can see how she transformed from this cold-hearted, avoidant person to an individual who opens her heart up to others and confronted her painful past, allowing herself to heal and move on. I found it especially heartwarming to see how comfortable his daughter was around her and how naturally they bonded. They had such a genuine connection and were so similar that it added warmth to the story.
I tried to find a flaw in this show but honestly couldn’t. Casting was perfect—both leads had great chemistry and portrayed a healthy, loving couple. Even the second couple was fun to watch. The script was beautifully written, with no moments where drama felt forced, allowing everything to flow naturally. This drama truly earned its high ratings for a reason.
What truly set Love Scout apart for me was how authentic the romance felt. This was the first K-drama I’ve watched where the relationship felt healthy and real. Even when they faced difficulties, they worked through them, came out stronger, and communicated openly. No games, no lies, no secrets—just pure respect and understanding. It was a refreshing change from the usual fairytale romance, offering a glimpse into how real relationships work.
If you’ve watched Love Scout, what was your thoughts on it and what was your favorite moment?
Me personally I loved this show so much! The relationship between Byeol and Ji-yun is so wholesome! My favorite moment was in the last episode when SPOILER Byeol came up with the new name of Ji-yun's headhunting company "We".
